Zhang Yi was originally a general under Yuan Shao, later surrendered to Cao Cao. During the battle between Cao Cao and Liu Bei, Zhang Yi went out to fight and was driven back by Zhao Yun. After the Battle of Red Cliffs, Cao Cao retreated, and Zhang Yi cleared the way for Cao Cao, but was slain by Gan Ning.
