Cousin of Pan Jun, Grand General of Shu. Minister of Shu, later became Minister of Works, which Yang Yi resented. Grand Marshal of Shu Han, continued Zhuge Liang's governance.
In fiction · Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Jiang Wan was a famous scholar of Jing and Xiang, followed Zhuge Liang into Sichuan, and became a strategist for Liu Bei. During Zhuge Liang's Northern Expeditions, Jiang Wan served as a military advisor and pleaded for Ma Su. Before his death, Zhuge Liang recommended Jiang Wan as his successor. After Zhuge Liang's death, Jiang Wan protected Yang Yi and later became Chancellor.

History vs. fiction
The novel fictionalizes that Jiang Wan succeeded as Prime Minister, a position that does not exist in official history.
The novel writes that after Zhuge Liang's death, the Later Ruler "followed Kongming's last words and appointed Jiang Wan as Prime Minister, Grand General, and Supervisor of Secretariat." According to Records of the Three Kingdoms, Jiang Wan initially "became Chief Clerk, overseeing state affairs," then "was promoted to Grand General," and later "was promoted to Grand Marshal," but never served as Prime Minister. The novel partially rewrites his official titles.
