King Zhao of Yan was the ruler of the Yan state. He heeded Zhang Yi's advice on the Vertical Alliance, ceded territory to sue for peace. Determined to avenge against Qi, he built the Golden Terrace to attract talents and heavily relied on Yue Yi.
