History vs. fiction
Differences in the framing of King Wu's campaign against Zhou
The Records of the Grand Historian, Annals of Yin, objectively states: 'Thereupon Tang said, "I am very martial," and thus he was called King Wu.' However, the opening of Investiture of the Gods, Volume 001, sets the tone: 'King Wen's unfinished great task, King Wu continued with diligence,' completely mythologizing or dramatizing it.
