In fiction · Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Mi Fang was Liu Bei's brother-in-law, and together with his elder brother Mi Zhu, guarded the central army. Later, he followed Liu Bei in campaigns, serving successively as defender of Xuzhou, county magistrate, and commander of ambush troops. When Guan Yu was guarding Jingzhou, Mi Fang assisted him and defended Nanjun. Because of a fire in Nanjun, he was punished, and later surrendered to Wu together with Fu Shiren. When Liu Bei attacked Wu, Mi Fang killed Ma Zhong and returned to Shu, but was executed by Liu Bei.
