In fiction · Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Fu Shiren was originally a Shu general stationed at Gong'an, punished for a fire. When Guan Yu was on the Northern Expedition, Lü Meng attacked Jingzhou. Fu Shiren persuaded Mi Fang to surrender to Wu and killed Guan Yu's envoy. Later, he followed the Wu army in the Battle of Xiaoting. Fearing Liu Bei's revenge, he assassinated Ma Zhong intending to return to Shu, but Liu Bei, detesting his betrayal, ultimately executed him.
