In fiction · Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Wu Yi was originally a general under Liu Zhang, and his sister married Liu Bei. While defending Luo City, he was captured alive by Zhao Yun and then surrendered. Later, as a Shu general, he was stationed at Nan'an, where he ambushed the enemy to cut off their retreat, and fought while retreating together with Wu Ban and others. He rose to the rank of General of Chariots and Cavalry and oversaw Hanzhong.
