In myth — Investiture of the Gods · Classic of Mountains and Seas

A disciple of the Chan sect under Mount Kunlun, and Jiang Ziya's junior fellow apprentice. Out of jealousy that Jiang Ziya was in charge of the Investiture of the Gods, he defied his master's orders, traveling around to persuade immortals of the Jie sect to protect Shang and oppose Zhou, and repeatedly plotted against Ziya. In the end, he was captured by the Primordial Lord of Heaven and suppressed at the North Sea Eye.
