Lady Gan was the wife of Liu Bei. Together with Lady Mi, she was protected by Guan Yu and later escorted by him. She gave birth to Liu Shan and was rescued by Zhao Yun during the chaos at Changban Slope, then followed Liu Bei to Hanjin. After Liu Bei became emperor, he posthumously honored her as Empress Zhaolie.
