One of the Seven Scholars of Jian'an
The official history Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wei, Annals of Emperor Wu, mentions appointing officials: 'Wang Can, Du Xi, Wei Ji, and He Qia as Palace Attendants.' However, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Chapter 041, after Liu Cong surrendered to Cao, describes: 'Fu Xun, Wang Can, and others were all made Marquis of Guannei; and Liu Cong was appointed Inspector of Qingzhou, and was ordered to depart immediately.'
