The official history Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wu, Biographies of Cheng, Huang, Han, Jiang, Zhou, Chen, Dong, Gan, Ling, Xu, Pan, Ding, records: 'When Cao Xiu came out at Dongkou, Sheng, along with Lü Fan and Quan Cong, crossed the river to defend.' In Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Chapter 96, it is written that Lu Xun, as commander-in-chief, 'immediately appointed Zhu Huan as left commander and Quan Cong as right commander,' and Quan Cong also suggested setting an ambush to capture Cao Xiu.
