In fiction · Journey to the West
King Bichen is one of the rhinoceros spirits, who, along with King Bihan and King Bishu, cultivated in Xuanying Cave. He disguised himself as a Buddha statue to deceive people into offering ghee and sesame oil, and took Tang Sanzang away at night. Later, Sun Wukong and others invited the Four Wood禽 Stars to capture him, and he was eventually beheaded.
