History vs. fiction
Asking to question Zhuge Liang was sternly stopped by Huang Gai
The official history Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wu, Biography of Yu, Lu, Zhang, Luo, Lu, Wu, and Zhu records: 'Luo Tong, courtesy name Gongxu, was a native of Wushang, Kuaiji. His father Jun served as Chancellor of Chen.' The entire text does not record that Luo Tong ever engaged in a verbal battle with Zhuge Liang. In Chapter 043 of the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, 'At that time, Zhang Wen and Luo Tong among the guests wanted to question him again,' but were suddenly sternly stopped by Huang Gai who entered from outside. This episode is fictionalized in the novel.
