Kou Hong was a wealthy man in Diling County, Tongtai Prefecture. He provided alms to monks for twenty-four years and treated the Tang monk and his disciples well. He had two sons, named Kou Liang and Kou Dong. Later, robbers came to steal his wealth, and Kou Hong was kicked to death, but was revived by Sun Wukong.
