History vs. fiction
Wei state minister
- novel inventionSpecific division of troops and strategy during the suppression of Guanqiu Jian's rebellion
The official history 'Records of the Three Kingdoms' in the Wei Shu chapter 'Biographies of Wang, Guanqiu, Zhuge, Deng, and Zhong' records: 'At that time, an imperial edict ordered Minister Fu Jia, because the southeast had just been pacified, to temporarily retain the defending general at Xuchang as support inside and outside, and ordered Jia to lead the various armies back.' However, 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' Chapter 110 adds the details of his strategy: 'Minister Fu Jia said: "Now that Jian's troops have retreated, they are worried that Wu will attack Shouchun, so they will surely return to Xiangcheng and divide troops to defend. General can send one army to take Lejia City, one army to take Xiangcheng, and one army to take Shouchun."'
