A native of Langzhong, he rose to the position of Chief Clerk of the Imperial Secretariat. Zhuge Liang praised him for recommending worthy men; he delivered messages for Zhuge Liang. A native of Dingling, Yingchuan, he successively served as Chief Clerk to the Chancellor and Military Advisor to the Grand General, and was enfeoffed as a marquis.
