According to the Records of the Three Kingdoms, Wei Shu, Biography of Zhong Hui, after conquering Shu, Zhong Hui was blinded by greed and joined forces with Jiang Wei in an attempt to hold Shu and rebel against Wei, but was killed when his troops mutinied.
