Is “征讨梁山” true?

The novel fictionalizes that Tong Guan led an army to campaign against Liangshan and returned in defeat. The "History of Song: Eunuch Biographies" records that Tong Guan held military power, provoked border conflicts, and was eventually executed, with no mention of a campaign against Song Jiang; the "Annals of Emperor Huizong" records that the one who suppressed and captured Song Jiang was Zhang Shuye, the prefect of Haizhou, not a high-ranking minister of the Privy Council level personally leading the expedition. The original text states: "Song Jiang rose from the north of the Yellow River, raiding ten commanderies in succession, and the government troops dared not confront his sharp edge."
