Is “Trapped by Zhou army at Mount Qi and frozen to death” true?

In volume 100 of 「Fengshen Yanyi」, Ziya reads the imperial decree: “特敕封尔为冰消瓦解之神。虽为恶煞，尔宜克修厥职，毋得再肆凶锋。” In the novel, Fei Zhong is trapped by Zhou troops on Mount Qi, freezes to death, and is enshrined as the Star of Ice Dissolution and Disintegration; the official history only records that he was executed after the fall of Shang, with no mention of freezing to death or deification.
