History vs. fiction
A wise king of the Shang dynasty's revival, the official history records his dream of obtaining Fu Yue and the Gaozong revival, while the novel mentions him as a previous revival monarch.
The Records of the Grand Historian, Annals of Yin, records that Wu Ding did not speak for three years, dreamed of obtaining the worthy minister Fu Yue and appointed him as prime minister, achieving the Zhongxing of Emperor Gao; the novel's citation of the Shang dynasty's historical lineage conforms to official history. Original text: "三年不言，政事决定于冢宰，以观国风。武丁夜梦得圣人，名曰说。" It also records: "得而与之语，果圣人，举以为相，殷国大治。"
