The chief vanguard officer under Deng Jiugong, he once fought with Nan Gongshi and offered a plan to trick Jiang Ziya. Later, he followed Deng Jiugong to surrender to the Western Zhou. During the campaign against Qinglong Pass, he was captured by Chen Qi while seeking revenge for his lord, and after being rescued, he was ultimately killed by Yu Da.
