In fiction · Journey to the West
King of Heat Dispelling is one of the rhinoceros spirits, who, along with King of Cold Dispelling and King of Dust Dispelling, cultivated in Xuanying Cave. The three monsters disguised themselves as Buddha statues, deceived the monks at Jinguang Temple into offering酥合香油, and took advantage of the night to capture Tang Sanzang. Later, Sun Wukong invited the Four Wood Star Lords to capture them, and they were ultimately beheaded.
