History vs. fiction
The novel claims that Lu Kang was stripped of military command and demoted to Sima for admonishing Sun Hao, while the official history records that he led troops until his death.

In Chapter 120 of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, it is described that Sun Hao, angered by Lu Kang's memorial advising him, accused him of colluding with the enemy, and 'sent an envoy to strip him of his military command, demote him to Sima, and ordered General Zuo Sun Ji to take over his army.' However, in the main text of the Biography of Lu Xun in the Wu Shu section of Records of the Three Kingdoms, it is recorded: 'In autumn, he died; his son Yan succeeded him. Yan and his younger brothers Jing, Xuan, Ji, and Yun each led part of Kang's troops.' Lu Kang led troops until his death, and after his death, his military command was inherited by his sons, not stripped by Sun Hao.
