In fiction · Journey to the West
The Flame Mountain Land was originally the furnace keeper of Tushita Palace. When Tang Sanzang and his disciples traveled west and arrived here, the Land told Sun Wukong that only by obtaining Princess Iron Fan's palm-leaf fan could the fire be extinguished, and guided him to seek the Bull Demon King. Later, when Wukong fought with the Bull Demon King, the Land appeared to assist.
