A heavenly king who guards the Southern Heavenly Gate. He once lent the fire-repelling罩 to Sun Wukong. As the guard of the Southern Heavenly Gate, he twice welcomed Sun Wukong. As the gatekeeper of the Southern Heavenly Gate, he blocked the true and false pilgrims. He met them outside the Eastern Heavenly Gate.
