Chancellor of Wu; an important minister of Eastern Wu, studied the qin and calligraphy under Cai Yong, later became Chancellor. Chancellor of Wu, enfeoffed as Marquis of Liling, was fair in office and feared by Sun Quan.
In fiction · Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Gu Yong was recommended by Zhang Hong to serve as Sun Quan's chancellor, and often advocated surrender with Zhang Zhao and others. Later became Chancellor of Wu, once suggested investigating Guan Yu's movements, opposed appointing Lu Xun, and also recommended Lu Xun as a general.
