The Twenty-Eight Mansions are celestial star generals of the Heavenly Court, who once participated in the siege of Mount Huaguo. When Tang Sanzang and his disciples were in trouble, the Jade Emperor dispatched them to rescue, but they were packed away by the demon king, and later rescued and freed.
