In fiction · Journey to the West
Ananda is a disciple of Tathagata. He once accompanied Tathagata to subdue Sun Wukong and pasted a talisman on the Five Elements Mountain. Later, he participated in the Ullambana Assembly to obtain treasures. When Tang Sanzang and his disciples came to fetch scriptures, Ananda and Kasyapa led them to see the scriptures and demanded gifts.
