Is “Angrily beheading the envoy and fighting to the death at Mianzhu” true?

The Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Shu, Biography of Zhuge Zhan records the historical fact that he refused Deng Ai's offer of a kingship to induce surrender, killed the envoy, and died with his son Zhuge Shang at Mianzhu; the novel's dramatization completely follows the official history. The original text says, “蜀卫将军诸葛瞻自涪还绵竹，列陈待艾。” Later it records, “大破之，斩瞻及尚书张遵等首，进军到雒。”（The Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wei, Biographies of Wang, Guanqiu, Zhuge, Deng, and Zhong）
