Is “Did King Xuan of Zhou in his later years die from being haunted by a ghost?” true?

The Records of the Grand Historian, 'Basic Annals of Zhou', Part Two, records plainly, only mentioning his early experiences: 'The crown prince Jing grew up in the house of the Duke of Shao, and the two regents together established him as king; this was King Xuan.' It does not mention the ghost of Du Bo. However, in Chronicles of the Eastern Zhou Kingdoms, Chapter 2, the novelist's pen turns: 'It is said that after King Xuan went hunting in the eastern suburbs, he encountered the vengeful spirits of Du Bo and Zuo Ru demanding his life, and fell ill on the way back to the palace. Whenever he closed his eyes, he saw Du Bo and Zuo Ru.' This is used to illustrate the cycle of heavenly retribution.
