Regarding the rebellion of Taizi Dai, the historical records and the novel are highly consistent. The Records of the Grand Historian, Chapter on the Jin Family, states: 'Before the rewards were fully distributed, King Xiang of Zhou, due to his brother Dai's rebellion, fled to Zheng and sent an urgent appeal to Jin.' The Chronicles of the Eastern Zhou Kingdoms, Chapter 32, also follows this clue in recording the response of the feudal lords at that time: 'In the tenth year of King Xiang of Zhou, the third month of the first year of Qi's Prince Wu Kui, Duke Xiang of Song personally allied with the armies of Wei, Cao, and Zhu, leading Crown Prince Zhao to attack Qi, camping at the outskirts.'
