Is “The location and details of Zhang Ren's ambush of Pang Tong.” true?

The novel describes Zhang Ren setting an ambush at Luofeng Slope, where Pang Tong, riding a white horse, was shot dead by a volley of arrows (Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Chapter 63: "Only heard a cannon sound from the hillside, arrows flew like locusts, aimed at the one riding the white horse... Alas, Pang Tong died in front of Luofeng Slope."). In official history, Pang Tong died from a stray arrow during the siege of Luo City, and there is no record of Zhang Ren specifically ambushing him at 'Luofeng Slope' (Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Shu, Biography of Pang Tong and Fa Zheng: "Advancing to besiege Luo County, Tong led the troops to attack the city, and was hit by a stray arrow, dying.").
