According to Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wu, Biography of Sun Ponu, when Sun Jian was attacking Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shu listened to slander and withheld grain supplies. It was only after Sun Jian rode to persuade him at night that Yuan Shu sent the grain.
