The novel 'Romance of the Sui and Tang Dynasties' in the third chapter fictionalizes a plot where Yuwen Shu and the crown prince discuss harming Li Yuan: 'Yuwen Shu said: "If the crown prince can bear to let this fellow go, then so be it; but if you cannot let him off, I have a plan that will surely kill Li Yuan and his entire family."' However, in the official histories such as 'Old Book of Tang: Annals of Gaozu' and 'Old Book of Tang: Biography of Li Mi' and related chapters, there is no record that Yuwen Shu ever proposed such a poisonous scheme to harm Li Yuan. This is an artistic embellishment of the novel.
