As for Chen Gong, "Chen Gong ran to the South Gate and was captured by Xu Huang." This is a case of switching flowers and grafting trees. The Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wei, Biography of Lü Bu clearly states: "His generals Hou Cheng, Song Xian, and Wei Xu bound Chen Gong and led their troops to surrender." As for Lü Bu himself, "when the siege was urgent, he descended and surrendered." In the official history, it was indeed Chen Gong whom Wei Xu captured alive.
