Is “At the Battle of Yangren, he slew Hua Xiong and routed Dong Zhuo's forces.” true?

The Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wu, Biography of Sun Jian, records that Sun Jian routed Dong Zhuo's army at Yangren and beheaded the commander Hua Xiong; the novel transfers this feat to Guan Yu. The original text in the Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wu, Biography of Sun Jian and Sun Ce, reads: 「坚复相收兵，合战於阳人，大破卓军，枭其都督华雄等。」
