Is “Who ordered Ma Dai to execute Wei Yan?” true?

In official history, Ma Dai was ordered by Yang Yi to pursue and execute Wei Yan, as recorded in the Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Shu, Biography of Liu, Peng, Liao, Li, Liu, Wei, and Yang: 'Wei Yan alone with his sons and a few others fled, heading for Hanzhong. Yi sent Ma Dai to pursue and behead him, bringing the head to Yi, who rose and trampled on it.' However, the novel changes this to a secret plan devised by Zhuge Liang before his death, and adds a dramatic scene of execution on the battlefield, as in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Chapter 105: 'Wei Yan shouted, "Who dares to kill me!" ... Behind him a man shouted, "I dare to kill you!" With a swift stroke, he cut Wei Yan down from his horse. All looked and saw it was Ma Dai.
