He truly knew his place and did not value his own death. Even the martyrs of ancient times, how could they surpass him?' In History of Han, 'Biographies of Ji Bu, Luan Bu, and Tian Shu,' the originally independent Tian Shu is merged into this chapter, pairing Luan Bu with Tian Shu: 'Luan Bu wept for Peng Yue, Tian Shu followed Zhang Ao, facing death as if returning home. They truly knew their place, even the martyrs of ancient times, how could they surpass them?' The combined biography structure expands from a single chapter with Ji Bu and an appended biography to a combined biography of martyrs from Chu and Zhao.
