Is “Killed by Cao Cao for directly stating that his 'Short Song Style' was inauspicious” true?

The official history 'Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wei, Biographies of Liu, Sima, Liang, Zhang, Wen, and Jia' records that Cao Cao 'said Fu could be entrusted with matters in the southeast, and thus appointed him as Inspector of Yangzhou,' but does not record that he was killed. However, in the novel 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms,' Chapter 48, Liu Fu was killed by Cao Cao because he pointed out that Cao Cao's 'Short Song Style' contained inauspicious words, and Cao Cao, in a rage, 'raised his spear and stabbed Liu Fu to death.' This entire episode is unique to the novel.
