According to the 'Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wei, Biography of Deng Ai', Deng Ai led his troops on a seven-hundred-li march through the Yinping trail, rappelling down cliffs to defeat Zhuge Zhan and force Liu Shan to surrender.
