According to the Records of the Grand Historian, Chapter on the Houses of Guan and Cai, and the Book of Documents, Chapter on the Mandate of Cai Zhong, Cai Shu Du followed Guan Shu Xian in rebellion, and after the Duke of Zhou suppressed it, he was exiled to Guo Lin; the novel's account of this early Zhou rebellion is consistent with official history.
Cai Shu Du
In both official history and fiction, he is the fifth son of King Wen of Zhou, who was exiled after participating in the Rebellion of the Three Guards.
