History vs. fiction
The specific process of killing Handan's grand officer Wu differs
According to the Records of the Grand Historian, chapter 'The Hereditary House of Zhao', Zhao Yang arrested Wu and imprisoned him in Jinyang, then first announced to the people of Handan, 'I have personally executed Wu; whom do you wish to establish?' Only after that did he kill him. However, in the Chronicles of the Eastern Zhou Kingdoms, chapter 79, it is said that Zhao Yang, in anger, 'lured Wu to Jinyang, seized and killed him,' without any prior notification to the people of Handan.
