Early served Diwu Qi, later defeated and demoted. A native of Wannian, Jingzhao. In the early Tianbao era, he served as the governor of Shan Commandery and the commissioner of water and land transport. He excavated the Guangyun Canal. Later, he was framed by Li Linfu and killed. As the governor of Shan Commandery and the commissioner of water and land transport, his power rivaled that of the chancellor.
