Sun Wu assists the Wu army
The Records of the Grand Historian, 'Hereditary House of Wu Taibo,' records his cautious strategic advice: 'Guang plotted to enter Ying, General Sun Wu said: "The people are weary, it is not yet possible, wait."' The Chronicles of the Eastern Zhou Kingdoms, chapter 75, greatly exaggerates his military abilities, using the mouth of a Chu general to say: 'Shu Lian laughed a few times and said: "People say Sun Wu uses troops as if he were a god; looking at this, it is truly child's play!"' This is used to set up the reversal later in the text.
