History vs. fiction
In Journey to the West, Qingfeng the Daoist boy is mistaken for Qi minister Qing Feng
According to the Records of the Grand Historian, House of Qi, Qing Feng was the prime minister and powerful minister of Qi, but later fled to other states due to internal strife: 'Qing Feng returned, but could not enter, and fled to Lu. The people of Qi blamed Lu, so Feng fled to Wu.' In the Chronicles of the Eastern Zhou Kingdoms, there are no supernatural plots involving Zhenyuanzi or ginseng fruit. The plot of the Daoist boy Qingfeng in Wuzhuang Guan taking care of the ginseng fruit tree and having disputes with Tang Sanzang and his disciples is actually a mythical story in Journey to the West and other supernatural novels, and has no connection with the Qi minister Qing Feng of the Spring and Autumn period. This is a fiction caused by confusion of homophones.
