The official history 'History of Song', Annals of Emperor Huizong, Volume 4, records: 'On Guiyou day, the Jin forces broke through the Liao central capital, and the Liao ruler fled north.' This records that the Liao ruler was defeated by Jin forces and fled north. The novel 'Water Margin', Chapter 086, records: 'Hearing that the Liao ruler had lost a city, therefore troops were dispatched to assist in battle.' It adapts the background of his retreat to the Song-Liao war.
