In fiction · Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Jia Chong, a confidant of Sima Zhao, was sent to Huainan to probe Zhuge Dan and instigated Cheng Ji to assassinate the emperor. Later, as a Wei minister, he suggested assassinating Jiang Wei and enfeoffing Zhong Hui to control Deng Ai. When Sima Yan usurped the throne, he urged him with the mandate of heaven. After the establishment of the Jin dynasty, he proposed attacking Wu, but later opposed it.

History vs. fiction
When the Duke of Gaogui, Cao Mao, attacked Sima Zhao, Jia Chong directed Cheng Ji (courtesy name Qimiao) on the spot to stab the emperor to death.
When the noble Duke of Gaogui, Cao Mao, launched his coup against Sima Zhao, Jia Chong directed Cheng Ji (courtesy name Qimiao) on the spot to stab the emperor to death. This core regicide event is recorded in both the official history and the novel as Jia Chong directing on the spot and Cheng Ji carrying it out, essentially consistent. The original text in the official history reads: "太子舍人成济问充曰：“事急矣。当云何？”充曰：“畜养汝等，正谓今日。今日之事，无所问也。”济即前刺帝，刃出于背。" (from the Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of Wei, Annals of the Young Emperor).
