Guangzhi was a young monk at Guanyin Temple and a grand-disciple of Elder Jinchi. When Tang Sanzang and his disciples stayed at the temple, he saw the precious kasaya of Tang Sanzang and suggested to Elder Jinchi to kill them and take the kasaya.
