In fiction · Journey to the West
Bo Qin's father was the father of Liu Boqin. After his death, his soul remained trapped and unable to find release. When Tang Sanzang passed by the Liu family on his journey west, he recited scriptures for the deceased, allowing Bo Qin's father to be liberated. He then appeared in a dream to his family to express his gratitude to Xuanzang.
